When times were hard and money got a little low grandfather would use Ringling paper to advertise his own circus by sniping over the Ringling name and putting in these famous words, AFTER THE MINNOW COMES THE WHALE, HENRY BROS CIRCUS……..A true jack pot.

This was my first Circus Fan’s convention and it was fantastic. I met a great deal of wonderful people who have been circus fans most of their lives. It seems they know more about our business than we do sometimes and I guess that’s OK. I had people come up to me and say hello….they knew who I was even tho I had never met them before. The best part was to see old friends and circus performers…. some of which I haven’t seen for over 30 years. There is no question that it did my heart good. All thanks to Bill Biggerstaff.

The people of Tempe, Arizona are quite proud of the Gammage Theater and rightfully so as it is indeed is a very beautiful theater. Just this past week the Broadway show Chitty Chitty Bang Bang played here and appearing in the show were the Wilson dogs trained by Joanne and PeeWee Pinson. I went over to visit for a little while……….. and a little while turned into having lunch and cutting up jackpots all afternoon…. almost to show time. It truly was fun talking about old times. Thanks Joanne and PeeWee for a great day.
