Odd thing about this movie, Republic studio released it in 1936, then later retitled it “King of Jungleland” and re-released it in 1948.

As you can see I am very happy with my new find and it is in fine condition. I found it in a second hand store in Florida. There is another poster similar to this one, it was printed in 1886 before Barnum and Bailey became part of Ringling Bros.

This poster now hangs on my office door, but not for long as soon it will be covered with a special paper that will protect it until it is framed.

Hagenbeck & Wallace winter quarters in Peru, Indiana 1930. It is said that Clyde would never lay off for any amount of time, maybe a day or two . He was always in practice with his cats if he was not doing shows or publicity shots.

After the passing of Clyde Beatty in 1965, there was another trainer with a great deal of talent to take Beatty’s place in the arena. Dave Hoover was no amateur…. he was swift and commanded the steel cage.
