I remember Ted was always talking about having his own circus. He finely got it and it was a great little show. This photo was taken on the back end of Pan American Show in the early 1960’s or late 1950’s.

The Ted Dewayne troupe doing a Teeter Board act in Japan. I believe this is Mel Werkmiester coming off the board into the chair.
Peter Taylor

This is a rare photo of Peter Taylor on the Robinson Circus, 1924. Taylor was from England. He traveled to Germany where the Hagenbeck training compound was located and he began learning his training skills. Taylor was one of a very few who worked a fighting style cat act. His act consisted of Black Maned Lions and Royal Bengal Tigers. A news article said Taylor fought the animals to a stand still. The article also said that he had the crowd standing and holding their breath. Clyde Beatty inherited the act in 1925 after the death of Pete Taylor some reports were that Taylor had a bad heart problem. Others say that he was shot to death by a jealous husband. The truth of the matter is …who knows, but this was the confab that took place in those years of long ago. Clyde Beatty carried on the fighting style cat act and throughout the years made it his own because of his stellar showmanship.
