From right to left is Shelby Jackson, Bab his wife and the other two in his act I am sorry to say I have no knowledge of there names. I met Shelby and Bab when they joined the Siebrand Bros Circus in the mid 1950’s.…….. What wonderful people they were.

Three acts rolled into one, bars casting and trampoline. It looks like Shelby is doing a somersault from the trap bar to the horizontal bar.

Back in the 1940’s after the war, The Jackson’s worked in many different Variety shows, fairs and some night clubs. Things were good for everyone in  show business then.

Just about all of the Carson photo collection date back to the 1940’s, 1950’s and some as far back as the 1930’s.

Al and Virginia Hustreis

Al and his wife were fine people, just a sweet couple. After they retired from the business, they put their money into a liquor store in Bakersfield, Calif and they did very well with their business. The only time I saw him after his retirement was when he and Virginia would visit the different shows we were on.

I have no idea where or when this photo was taken, but it was on a carnival midway. The light towers suggest that it might be Crafts Greater Shows? early 1950’s?

It seemed like in the 30’s, 40’s and the 1950’s the skies were filled with high pole acts. Now in 2011 I do not know of any that remain in our business.  Maybe it’s time for them to make an appearance once again……….. they indeed thrilled the audience.
