These are two of the clowns Terrell Jacobs had on his circus in 1950 or as late as 1952. The names of these two performers is unknown to me.

Stock cars custom built for animals. Photo taken 1950. When any of the railroad shows came to their show town they parked the flat bed cars off the main rail to siding rails….called switching tracks. This would allow them to unload and load up animals, equipment and performers. There were times that the show train might stay on a siding for extra days because of show times or scheduling traveling time. Most of the time it was very coordinated between the the train masters and the railroad itself.

Photo taken in 1950. These were coaches for the show personnel. Most of  the circus railroad shows owned and built their own train cars. The flat beds were bought from the railroad companies. At the circus winter quarters  the flat beds were built to whatever was needed. Many of the coaches and sleepers that were bought stayed the same but for a few miner changes to accommodate the owners and performers with a commissary and bathrooms and even a G room.

1950 photo. Here you can see someone stepping out of the coach, most likely a show boss going to town. There is a car parked off the siding. The make of it I can’t tell. It could be a Packard or a Buick?……………Need some help.

Please read the comment made by Jerry Cash, dating the car. Thanks Jerry.
