I admired this woman and her animal training skills immensely. The way she moved in the arena around the tigers was sheer poetry. I saw her last performance at Jungleland, Thousand Oaks, CA.

My Mother wrote their names on the bottom of this photo, 1940 The lion wagons were bought from the Baddeley Bros Circus in 1939.

The Henry lions were exhibition animals in the menagerie and also performing animals. In the early days there was no steel arena. They were brought out into the circus ring on a lunge line to perform their tricks. They never worked as a large group. Later an arena was built only 8 to 12 cats […]
